Kenyans have expressed their frustration on social media as the SMS code provided by Kenya National Examination Council failed to deliver the expected 2023 KCPE results.
Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu officially Released the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results On Thursday, November 2023, few minutes before 11 am
Speaking from Mitihani House, Machogu announced that parents and candidates could obtain their results by sending their index numbers to 40054.
He had assured that the results would be promptly accessible through the SMS code immediately following the official release of the 2023 KCPE.
Contrary to this assurance, more than an hour later, parents and candidates found themselves unable to retrieve the 2023 KCPE results.
Growing anxiety and numerous attempts to use the SMS code raised questions about the delay and the inability to access the results.

Upon investigation by our media team we have discovered that parents were receiving a message stating that the results were not yet available.
“Dear Customer, the KCPE 2023 results are not available. Kindly try again later after the announcement. KNEC helpline 08007224900.” reads a message shared by one parent.
In the 2023 examinations, a total of 8,523 candidates achieved more than 400 marks, with the highest-scoring student obtaining an impressive 428 marks.
A total of 352,782 candidates secured scores falling within the range of 300 to 399 marks.
A total of 658,278 students attained marks ranging from 200 to 299, while 383,025 candidates fell within the bracket of 100 to 199 marks while some 2,060 candidates scored less than 100 marks in the examinations.
