NAIROBI, Kenya Jan 12 – Dr. Andrew Mulwa, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA), has won the prestigious 2024 African Governance Award.
The accolade, bestowed by the Business Executive, is a testament to Dr. Mulwa’s exemplary leadership and dedication to advancing governance standards on the African continent after transforming the medical supplies authority.
This coveted award, which attracts participants from across Africa, serves as a platform to recognize and celebrate outstanding contributions to good governance in the spheres of political governance and socio-economic development across Africa.
Organisers said the selection process involved nominations from the African public, followed by a rigorous authentication process to validate Dr. Mulwa’s nomination claims, which included assessing his conduct, performance, and overall impact.
The award not only acknowledges his achievements but also reaffirms KEMSA’s status as the most outstanding medical authority across Africa.
“This confirms you as one of the leading lights in Africa’s ongoing political and socio-economic renaissance and presents you to the world as worthy of international public acclaim as a standard setter for public institutions across the continent,” a letter to Dr Mulwa reads in part.
The recognition of Dr. Mulwa’s exceptional contributions to African governance will culminate in an award ceremony during the upcoming African Governance Conference event scheduled to take place in Mauritius from February 7 to 10, 2024.
Dr. Mulwa was appointed KEMSA CEO in May 2023, and his visionary leadership has left an indelible mark on the institution and the broader landscape of African governance.
