Government Asks Kenyans to Apply for Vacant Jobs in Saudi Arabia

The Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Labor has invited Kenyans to apply for 2, 500 jobs in the health sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, January 9 those required to fill the vacancies are general nurses, personal assistants, and healthcare assistant professionals.

“The government of Kenya is collaborating with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in enhancing safe, regular, and productive labour migration between the two countries,” the statement read in part.

President William Ruto has faced criticism for his international trips, but he defended them, emphasizing the positive outcomes.

His recent visit to Saudi Arabia resulted in securing employment opportunities for Kenyans through a bilateral agreement.

Interested female applicants for the healthcare positions must possess a Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or certificate in nursing, a valid police clearance certificate, and be aged between 22-35 years.

Degree holders need a minimum of two years of continuous service, while fresh graduates with diplomas are eligible. Certificate holders should have a minimum of one year of continuous service.

Applicants are also required to be medically fit, proficient in English (both spoken and written), and provide prometric test results, a data flow verification report for the education certificate, and a nursing council license or the latest employment certificate.

The terms of service include a two-year renewable contract, eight hours of work, a round-trip air ticket, and overtime pay in accordance with the country’s labor laws.

Remuneration for degree holders is 3,500 Saudi Arabian Riyal (SAR) (approximately Sh147,670), for diploma holders, it is 3,000 SAR (Sh126,574), and for certificate holders, it is 2,200 SAR (Sh92,821).

Interested candidates are required to register and apply through the National Employment Authority portal.
